Micro Green Salads

Microgreens are young, tender plants that are harvested just after the first leaves have developed. They are packed with flavor, nutrition, and color, making them a popular ingredient in salads. Here's how to prepare a micro green salad:

  1. Choose your microgreens: You can use a single type of microgreen or a mix of different types to create a variety of colors, flavors, and textures. Some popular microgreens for salads include arugula, radish, broccoli, pea shoots, and sunflower.

  2. Wash the microgreens: Rinse the microgreens under cold water and gently shake off any excess water. Pat them dry with a clean towel or use a salad spinner.

  3. Prepare the dressing: Make a simple dressing using ingredients such as olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, honey, mustard, or herbs. Whisk the ingredients together in a bowl or shake them in a jar.

  4. Assemble the salad: Place the microgreens in a bowl or on a plate. Add any other salad ingredients you like, such as sliced vegetables, nuts, seeds, or cheese. Drizzle the dressing over the top and toss the salad gently to coat the greens evenly.

  5. Serve and enjoy: Microgreen salads are best served immediately after assembling. Enjoy the fresh flavors and textures of the salad as a light and healthy meal or as a side dish to accompany a main course.
